Random Bit LLC (“Random Bit,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website at randombitcorp.com (the “Site”), how we use and share that information, and the choices you have. It applies to information collected through the Site only. It does not govern data we process on behalf of our clients, which is subject to the terms of our agreement with each client.

Please read this policy carefully to understand how we handle information collected through the Site.

Random Bit is located in the United States, and information collected through the Site is processed and stored in the United States. The Site is intended for a business audience in the United States and is not directed to individuals in the European Union or the United Kingdom.

Information we collect

Information you provide to us. We collect the information you voluntarily submit through the Site:

  • Contact form. When you submit a contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, IP address, location, page history and any information you include in the message field.
  • Careers and resume submissions. When you apply for a position or express interest in employment, we collect your name, email address, phone number, IP address, location, the contents of your message, and any documents you attach, such as a resume or cover letter.  

 

Information submitted through our forms is delivered by email to our team and stored in our website’s database and internal systems.  Information submitted on a job application on the Site is delivered to, handled and stored by JazzHR through a widget which is embedded in the Site.

 

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies, including your IP address, approximate geographic location, browser type, device information, operating system, pages viewed, time spent on each page, referring pages, exit pages, and general usage activity. We use this information to operate the Site, to analyze usage trends, and to maintain its performance and security.

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to help us measure and understand Site traffic and usage patterns. Google Analytics uses cookies and may collect and process information about your visit, including the data points listed above, for its own purposes in accordance with Google’s own privacy policy (available at https://policies.google.com/privacy). You can opt out of Google Analytics through the cookie preferences tool on our Site, and you can also install the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on (available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

The Site also loads fonts and similar display resources from third-party providers, including Google Fonts. When your browser requests these resources, your IP address is transmitted to the provider.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising purposes.

We share information only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers. We use trusted third parties to operate the Site and our business, such as our website hosting provider, our website form and email service, and Google Analytics. These providers may process your information only to provide services to us.
  • Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required or permitted by law, regulation, legal process (such as a subpoena or court order), or governmental request, or where necessary to comply with our legal obligations; protect the rights, property, or safety of Random Bit, our clients, or others; enforce our contractual rights; or detect, prevent, or investigate fraud, security incidents, or other unlawful activity.
  • Business transfers. If Random Bit is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
  • With your consent. We may share information for other purposes with your prior consent or at your request or direction.

Data retention

We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Our retention practices include:

  • Contact inquiries, including resumes, are retained as long as needed to respond to and follow up on your request, maintain ongoing business communications, and to preserve reasonable business records.
  • Automatically Collected Information. Analytics and technical data are typically retained as required by our service providers’ retention settings, after which they are anonymized or deleted.
  • Legal Holds. Notwithstanding the above, we will retain information for longer periods if required to comply with legal holds, pending litigation, governmental investigations, or other legal obligations.

Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect. No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Third-party links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites and services, such as LinkedIn, that Random Bit does not operate or control. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or contents of those third-party sites and services, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Children’s privacy

The Site is intended for a business audience and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Your choices

You may:

  • update or correct information you have submitted, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us at the address below;
  • opt out of analytics cookies through our cookie preferences tool; and
  • adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies.

California residents

We are committed to handling your information responsibly, and we honor the following requests from California residents regardless of whether we are otherwise required to.

In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information through the Site:

  • Identifiers, such as your name, email address, and phone number.
  • Professional or employment-related information, such as the contents of a resume or application you submit.
  • Internet or other electronic network activity, such as analytics data about how you use the Site.

We collect this information for the purposes described in the “How we use your information” section above. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we have not done so in the past 12 months.

If you are a California resident, you may ask us to:

  • confirm what personal information we have collected about you and provide a copy of it;
  • correct inaccurate personal information; or
  • delete the personal information we have collected from you.

Data processing on behalf of clients 

Random Bit may process personal information on behalf of its clients pursuant to separate written agreements. When we process data in this capacity, we act as a service provider, processor, or contractor (as defined under applicable privacy laws), and our processing is governed by the terms of our client agreements. This policy does not apply to such client data. If you are an individual whose information is processed by Random Bit on behalf of a client, and you wish to exercise privacy rights (such as access, correction, or deletion), please contact the client directly. We will cooperate with our clients to facilitate such requests as required by our agreements and applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
